EPIC’s Lean Operating System is supported by equipment platforms that enhance product quality, range of processes and production flow flexibility. We have standardized on the latest Siemens high-speed vision based SMT equipment with state-of-the-art soldering technology from EPM. EPIC is the first EMS provider in North America to utilize this revolutionary equipment for wave soldering and vapor-phase reflow processes. Its flexibility is a central part of our synchronous flow strategy and has been instrumental in reducing set-up and changeover times--key to efficiently producing low to medium volume products in a high-mix environment. Based upon this synchronous flow approach, we have been able to reduce its standard order lead times to 1-2 days.
